Contemp. tree calf boards, rebacked with calf in the 20th century with renewed morocco & gilt spine labels; extremities rather bumped resulting in loss, boards heavily rubbed, rebacked spines with some rubbing, Greek key gilt borders & yellow edges, marbled endpapers, armorial bookplate of Paulet St. John Mildmay 1827 to front pastedown of each volume over a prior bookplate, some offsetting opp. plates & the odd spot. Engraved portrait frontispiece of Shakespeare, nine plates in Vol I, seven to vol II, six to vol III, five to volume IV, six to volume V, five to Vol VI; engraved tailpieces to each play. xliii, (5), 514pp; 600pp; 563pp; 507pp; 552pp; 547, (14pp).
