Printed by Bye and Law for T. Longman et al. Contemp. full straight scarlet grain morocco binding, gilt tooled spine & titles, boards blind stamped and with gilt borders featuring central crest of Trinity College Dublin to front boards; spines discoloured & rubbed, resulting in some loss, particularly to the tails of the spines, extremities rather bumped & with some loss; edges all gilt, 1833 prize bookplate to front pastedown & later Royal Victoria Yacht Club library bookplate to ffep. First volume of the Iliad complete with engraved folding plate of the shield of Achilles, frontispiece portrait of Homer loosening but present. Odyssey complete with the Battle of Frogs and Mice bound to final volume. A lovely 18th century edition of this important Greek epic translation. 8vo.
