Tolkien, John Ronald Reuel. 1966 The Hobbit. The second impression of the third edition, being the sixteenth impression overall. London: George Allen & Unwin Ltd. Complete with a lovely example of the iconic original dust wrapper, unclipped. Illustrated by the author with a colour frontispiece, three additional colour plates, eight monochrome illustrations and map endpapers. Bound in the publisher's green cloth with Smaug illustration to front board. First published on the 21st September 1937, the popularity of The Hobbit saw a second impression by mid-December; the second impression saw the addition of colour plates. (1)
