Illuminated: And Illustrated with Engravings from the Works of the Great Painters. London: John Murray. A wonderfully illustrated copy of The Book of Common Prayer, in an intricate and unique papier-mache binding. Illustrated throughout with detailed vignettes, colour adornments and illuminated letters, with seven striking chromolithograph plates. Lacking one plate to page 32. This copy was previously held in Brecon Cathedral Library, with their bookplate to the front paste down and an ink inscription gifting the book to the cathedral to the front blank. (1)
