CARRY ON UP THE JUNGLE (1970) - VALERIE LEON'S HAIR PIECE
Carry On Up The Jungle (1970 Carry On film) - Valerie Leon's personally worn and used wig / hairpiece, believed to have been used in Carry On Up The Jungle. The wig was made by Wig Creations Ltd and carries Leon's name in faint blue ink alongside the maker's label. The wig was worn in addition to her real hair to give it the extra volume needed for her character, Leda. Existing in good used condition, with some of the original styling still visible - the brushed-back fringe, and shoulder-length curling. Some thinning and loss in places, but very displayable. As one of Leon's own wigs, it is likely that this was reused in other productions both before and after her Carry On work. Supplied with a signed notecard from Leon. From her personal collection. A special piece of British comedy memorabilia.
Carry On Up The Jungle marked Leon's favourite role within the franchise which saw her playing Leda, Queen of the Lubi-Dubis who enslave the male explorers (Sid James, Frankie Howerd, Kenneth Connor etc).
