Original Mr Blobby and Baby Blobby costumes sell for over £10,000 in auction

The iconic TV character, created for the BBC's former Noel's House Party show in the 1990s, tricked and pranked celebrities, destroyed studio sets and only spoke by screeching his name.
The costume, which was one of three originals made, went under the hammer at an online auction on Monday 29th June 2026 in our Bristol saleroom.
The costume, which was made for use at the 'Blobbyland' Theme Park attraction at Cricket St Thomas in the mid-nineties, attracted 26 bids, some from as far away as the USA, before the auction closed at £8,500, far exceeding it's pre-sale estimate of £3,000 to £5,000.
A figure of Baby Blobby from the same collection, which also featured in the auction, sold for £2,100.
Both figures totalled an eye-watering £10,600 + fees. They sold to private collectors based in the UK.
'Selling iconic pop culture is what we do best,' says our Auctioneer Andy. 'Everyone loves a fun piece of history, and what's more fun than Mr Blobby!? These results are Blobby-tastic!'
Auctioneum's next British Comedy & Memorabilia Auction takes place in November and entries are now invited
